The Romanian Cultural Garden in Cleveland!

Sculpture

The Romanian Cultural Garden idea was first raised by the Association of Romanian American students. With the help of the clergy and lay leaders at the time, the land was secured for the Romanian Cultural Garden. In 1967, the statue of violinist, composer, and conductor George Enescu was brought from Romania and installed in the Garden. Enescu was especially loved by Romanians, including the Romanian Americans in Cleveland. This was an important and positive addition to the Romanian Cultural Garden. Ever since, local churches and societies have continued to assist the improving of the Romanian Cultural Garden however they could. The Romanian Community hopes to continue to improve the Garden which symbolizes their native culture in Cleveland, Ohio.
